Empowering Local Leaders

Training people. Transforming communities

At New Roots, we believe the most powerful resource for change is people. That’s why we invest in developing strong local leaders—those who live in the community, know its strengths and challenges firsthand, and are passionate about building a better future.

We now have over 60 Haitian employees who are the backbone of everything we do. These men and women are not just workers—they are changemakers.

They are the ones investing in the kids each day.

They are the ones raising livestock, butchering, and selling the meat.

They are running programs, leading teams, and setting a new standard for what’s possible in rural Haiti.

New Roots isn’t just offering handouts. We are transforming one rural Haitian village by equipping its best resource—its people.

We’re committed to making sure every team member continues to grow personally and professionally. Training opportunities include:

  • Computer & technology classes

  • Machinery operation & maintenance

  • Carpentry & construction skills

  • Child development & education courses

  • Mental health & trauma-informed care

  • Leadership development & team management

When local leaders are empowered with knowledge, tools, and confidence, they begin to solve problems from within—creating lasting change that no outside solution can match.

Why It Matters

When local leaders grow in knowledge and confidence, their impact multiplies. Communities begin to solve their own challenges with creativity, skill, and dignity. Our role is to walk alongside them—providing access, support, and opportunity—while they lead the way.

These leaders are the future.
They are the ones who will change Haiti for the next generation.
